A pit-less weighbridge, also known as a surface-mounted weighbridge, is designed without the need for a deep pit. It relies on columns or supports to hold the load cells and weighbridge platform. This type of weighbridge is ideal for sites where excavation is impractical or where minimizing site disruption is a priority.

Advantages :

  • Reduced Construction Costs : Eliminates the need for a deep pit, significantly lowering construction expenses.
  • Faster Installation : Avoids extensive excavation, allowing for quicker setup and less downtime.
  • Easier Maintenance : Simplifies maintenance and repairs with easier access to components.
  • Reduced Risk of Water Damage : Being above ground, it avoids issues related to water accumulation and rust.

Features :

    1. Design
  • Foundation : Utilizes columns or supports instead of a pit to hold the load cells and platform.
  • Load Cells : Mounted on supports to measure weight and transfer data to the indicator.
  • Platform : A flat surface supported by load cells for vehicle weighing.
  • Ramps : Constructed on both sides for smooth vehicle access, available in concrete or steel based on budget and needs.

  • 2. Materials
  • Mild Steel Platform : Strong, lightweight, and customizable, suitable for complex designs.
  • Concrete Platform : Durable and weather-resistant, but heavier and more challenging to transport and install.

  • 3. Capacity

Accommodates from 10 to 150 tons, making it suitable for a range of vehicles and trailers.

    4. Platform Sizes
  • 4-6 Tire Vehicles : 6-10 meters (20-33 feet) long and 3 meters (10 feet) wide.
  • 12-16 Tire Vehicles : 10-15 meters (33-50 feet) long and 3 meters (10 feet) wide.
  • Trailers: Up to 18 meters (60 feet) long and 3 meters (10 feet) or more wide, depending on trailer size.

Conclusion :

This design offers a practical and cost-effective solution for various weighing needs while minimizing site impact and maintenance challenges.
